How to Build a Productive Team

Productivity is a very important force that impacts team building at work. In the team-building context, we need to consider various aspects of productivity to develop a competent team. Before we consider these aspects let's define what we mean by the team. A team is a combination of different individuals who are together working towards achieving a common goal. Every team will have a different composition, but the composition may be diverse with some members being more influential than others. So we're describing a particular team that has a bunch of different individuals.

On the face of it, this gives then senior managers a lot of freedom to pick who they're going to be playing games with, what they'll be playing, and how they'll be playing them. Great managers are great at this because they decide who's making decisions and what rules will be in place for making decisions.

But how can that be used to develop a cohesive team?

Let's say that we need a team tasked with turning a profit in the stock market. It's been a tough year and people are taking a huge hit in the profits. Your team is all late and coming in late or not turning a profit at all. This is hardly a fun atmosphere. But nothing is going to change when senior management finally announces that they will review the accounts after all.

What would be likely to happen then?

Hopefully nothing! It's probably a strong SS who became very stressed and tired looking.

Several productivity techniques can be employed at this point though. The first you can undertake is learning a technique called a hindside interview. This is where a target is made out of paper (pen or pencil, string, etc) and it’s asked, “What would you do if the business were in the greatest shape of form right now?” When they respond, a hinged board can then be shown to the team. The answer to the question is then posted at the same time as each answer. This encourages the team to come up with solutions rather than sharing their full thought.

Now let’s discuss some additional techniques. Team building is important for everyone involved in the business but the team will necessarily perform at their most efficient when they are all on the same page. As for the sluggish seniors that are already behind, it’s not going to take much to remind them otherwise. It’s better to devote time (or days) to throwing someone a few words of encouragement.

This is a great technique for structuring and defining the goals of a team. I mean it’s usually taken for granted. But it is still taken for granted. The main reason why is that he’s old-fashioned and conservative. He was successful with it in his working days and therefore that it would work in all other respects. But remember, if it’s accepted just because it’s old, it’s automatically declined in the new environment.

Rushing into team-building

Someone has a masterful explanation that is as good as a tablet. This is the source of great productivity. It’s quite rare to see a team without a team-building session. This might share aspects of the idea of team-building, but it can just as easily provide giftedness analyses. When quested, it’s rather efficient as a quick way to slow down and evaluate team performance through a series of questions. This may feel like a simple procedure, but in reality, it forces the team to think.

These are a few tips I think can help show you how to build a productive team. All these are aimed at team building, so they might not be suitable for non-team situations as well. However, most everything can be applied with the proper application and application. This is just a simple guideline and I think it can help you feel that there are options.
